Victoria Marrs, MSN, RN, CNOR has been a perioperative nurse for over 30 years. Lisa received her BSN from University of Mary Hardin Baylor School of Nursing and her master’s in Nursing Leadership from Texas A&M, Corpus Christi. She has maintained her certification for Periop nursing for 30 years. She started her nursing career at the Scott & White in Temple, TX as a new grad in the OR, after working as a surgical technologist for 17 years. In 1995, she became an instructor at Temple Junior College in the Surgical Technology program. She started her career with the VA in 2002, where she is still employed. Starting as a staff nurse, then serving as the OR Nurse Manager for 4years, she then moved to the Associate Chief Nurse for Perioperative Services at the Central Texas Health Care System for 8 years. She has recently been selected as the Nurse Executive for the Operative care Line at the Michael E. Debakey VA Medical Center. Vicky currently serves as a member of the Periop for the VHA National Office of Nursing Services. She is also a member of the Perioperative Safe Patient Handling and Mobility (SPHM) Innovation technical Advisory Group.
