Staff RN
Boston Medical Center
Rhiannon Gwin began her 13-year nursing career by obtaining an associate’s degree in Nursing from the Community College of Beaver County in Monaca, Pennsylvania. Early in her career, she cared for patients on an acute respiratory and telemetry floor before moving on to spend time working in the emergency department at Jameson Memorial Hospital in New Castle, Pa, and Sharon Regional Hospital in Sharon Pa. She then worked on a cardiac step-down unit at Jameson Memorial Hospital and gained a love for giving care to patients experiencing M.I. and heart catheterizations. Not long after Rhiannon moved back to her home state of Massachusetts to work as a staff nurse and charge nurse on a medical/surgical/telemetry unit at Beth Israel Deaconess-Plymouth hospital. In 2018 she attended the AORN-based Perioperative 101 certification course to pursue her dream of becoming an operating room nurse. Rhiannon has been an OR nurse at Boston Medical center since 2019 where she enjoys the diversity and camaraderie of her peers and is always ready to absorb new information while sharing her own expertise in caring for patients in the perioperative environment.
Rhiannon is currently working on her RN-BSN program at Walden University online and preparing to study for the CNOR certification. She aspires to join the cardiac surgery team once she has gained enough experience in vascular and thoracic surgery.
