Clinical Research Nurse
National Institutes of Health
I graduated from college in the Philippines in 2012 and migrated to the United States the following year. I began my nursing career here in the US, working as a nurse assistant for a few years while prepping for the NCLEX exam. I hurdled my NCLEX in 2016 and was fortunate to get recruited as a Pediatric Operating Room Nurse in a level 1 trauma center shortly after.
In 2021, I started working as a Clinical Research Nurse in the Operating Room at the National Institutes of Health. The study of rare diseases enables us to quickly transfer scientific findings and discoveries into innovative ways to diagnose, treat, and treat diseases.
As a clinical research nursing staff, our responsibilities include providing specialized clinical care to research participants, supporting protocol implementation, and—most importantly—supporting data collection by procuring specimens for various NIH institutes.
