Ebony N. Mitchell-Wallace, MSN, RN, BSH is an RN Surgery Scheduling Coordinator at Houston Methodist Hospital TMC and an RN IV Perioperative Staff RN in the Red Duke Trauma Institute at Memorial Hermann Hospital TMC. She earned a a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Prairie View A&M University (2003) and a Bachelor of Science in Health from Prairie View A&M University (2003), and a Masters of Nursing Administration ( 2016) from Chamberlain College of Nursing. Throughout her 20 year tenure as a Registered Nurse and 21 year tenure within perioperative services, Mrs. Mitchell-Wallace has served as a Charge RN, mentor, preceptor, Shared Governance Chair and Shared Governance Co-Chair, and participant on many hospital wide and perioperative committees within both facilities. As an active member of AORN Greater Houston since 2002, she has served in the following capacities: Secretary (2021-2023), Nominating Committee Advisor (2019-2020), The Federation of Houston Professional Women Secretary (2020-2021), The Federation of Houston Professional Women AORN Greater Houston Woman of Excellence (2019), The Federation of Houston Professional Women Donor since 2019, President (2018-2019), and President Elect (2017-2018). Ebony also currently serves as the Community Service Chairperson and actively participates in legislative activities through the Texas Collaboration of periOperative Registered Nurses( TCORN), Texas Nurses Association, AORN Nationals, and the American Nurses Association as a Nurse in Washington Intern. She has been an AORN National poster presenter from 2016-2020) and will be presenting a poster Nationally in 2023. Mrs. Mitchell-Wallace is also active in multiple organizations outside of AORN, where she serves as a leader as well. Mrs. Mitchell-Wallace believes that nursing is a co-dependent, diversified, and emerging profession that affords individuals with opportunities to autonomously provide safe and effective care in nurturing environments.
