Michael Negrete has been a Registered Nurse for 20 years and currently holds the position of Clinical Nurse Educator in Surgery at PIH Health Downey Hospital (PHDH). Michael was a perioperative RN in Surgery at PHDH for 17 years and he was a Daisy Award recipient in 2016. Michael also served in the US Army Reserves for 28 years and during this time he held various positions (Platoon Sargent, Senior Medical Department Instructor, Staff Sargent, Second Lieutenant) and he retired from the military with a rank of Captain in 2015. Michael is currently enrolled in the MSN program at Western Governors University with an emphasis in Nursing Informatics. Michael is on track to graduate in the Winter of 2022.
