LaSandra Brown, BSN, MBA, RN, CNOR, NPD-BC has been a registered nurse for over 22 years and worked in the perioperative, professional development, and leadership arena for all of those years. She has spent her career in various roles including staff, resource nurse, charge nurse, manager, program director, staff development coordinator, and Nurse Education Specialist II leading the OR nurse residency program. In the perioperative area, she has specialized in plastics, orthopedics, general surgery, neurosurgery, vascular access surgical procedures, OB-GYN, robotics, pediatrics and the AOD (Admission, Observation, and Discharge area). LaSandra is currently a Nursing Educator at MD Anderson Cancer Center where she is instrumental in leading institutional nursing orientation, onboarding all staff to the operating room, teaching in orientation, and facilitating skills of licensed and non-licensed staff. She has and continues to participate in departmental and hospital-wide initiatives. LaSandra is adjunct faculty at the University of Houston College of Nursing for the Perioperative Elective. She is an active member of AORN Greater Houston.
