Jennifer Pennock is the Associate Director of Government Affairs for AORN where she advocates for patients, perioperative nurses and the entire surgical team. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Philosophy and a Master of Science in Public Services Management. Jen has more than 20 years of experience working in government affairs and lobbying in the health policy arena – lobbying on the Affordable Care Act, CDC funding, professional scope of practice and patient access to care issues. Jen’s professional career started out on Capitol Hill and brought her to Denver, Colorado in time to contribute to AORN’s successful surgical smoke evacuation legislation in Colorado and the ongoing efforts to enact similar legislation in states across the country.
