Donato Pacione MD, is an Assistant Professor of Neurological Surgery as New York University Grossman School of Medicine where he also serves as the Chief of Service and the Director of Quality Improvement and Patient Safety. Dr. Pacione received his BS in Chemical Engineering from Cornell University. He received his medical from New York Medical College and was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha honors society. He went on to complete his neurosurgical residency at New York University Grossman School of Medicine, where he also completed an in folded fellowship in skull base surgery. After completion of his residency he was brought on as a faculty member at NYU.
Dr. Pacione’s interests are in the treatment of skull base tumors and diseases by combining traditional open microsurgical techniques with minimally invasive endoscopic approaches. His research has focused on the application of technical innovations to skull base surgery as well as quality improvement initiatives designed to improve patient outcomes. Dr. Pacione has authored numerous peer reviewed publications associated with these topics. He is currently a peer reviewer for several neurosurgical and skull base journals.
He has served as a faculty member of the North American Skull Base Society and is a member of the Value Based Healthcare Committee. He is also currently the Co-Chair of the Scientific Meeting Planning Committee for the NASBS.
