I am MAJ Jesse Michael Hartmann, United States Army, and I am a 2023 Doctor of Nursing practice student at the Uniformed Services University in the Perioperative Adult Gerontological Clinical Nursing Specialist program. I graduated with a BSN in 2008 from Colorado State University Pueblo. Following graduation, I commissioned into the Army as a Medical-Surgical Nurse at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. While at Walter Reed I had the privilege to care for Soldiers injured from the wars and decided to further help by advancing my nursing knowledge and attend the Perioperative course in 2010. Shortly after graduating I was deployed to Iraq and served as the officer in charge of the operating room at the CSH. I have had the opportunity to serve as the operative services director for 3SL, which expanded my knowledge of managing surgical services within a hospital organization. My interests lie in achieving positive measurable patient outcomes through the implementation of best evidence-based practices. I was born in Fort Rucker, Alabama and have had the opportunity to see many parts of the world growing up in a military family. Outside of school I enjoy playing many kinds of sports, camping with family, and watching movies.
