Biography
Dr. Devlin, a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Scholar and Stratton Scholar, joined MIMEDX as Medical Science Liaison in December 2022. She earned a PhD at the M. Louise Fitzpatrick College of Nursing, Villanova University, Villanova, Pennsylvania. She has a compelling record of high-quality nursing care, leadership, and an emerging research platform in the perioperative arena as a registered nurse first assistant (RNFA), educator, and nurse scientist. Dr. Devlin has over 35 years of clinical perioperative experience at The University of Pennsylvania Health System and then Main Line Health System. While practicing as a private RNFA, she contributed to and participated in medical education programs for a variety of procedures for students and licensed providers.
Teaching
Dr. Devlin has taught professional and student audiences throughout her career. She has developed medical-surgical, transition to practice, and NCLEX preparation courses. Dr. Devlin is a subject matter expert for the Association of periOperative Registered Nurses (AORN) and the latest version of Rothrock Alexander's Care of the Surgical Patient. She uses innovative teaching techniques, is an ATI Champion, and holds a Quality Matters Teaching Online Certificate. Utilizing her Master's in Nursing Education degree, she has a track record of attaining and presenting approved continuing education.
Research
Dr. Devlin started her research tract as a PARTNERS Research Fellow at Mainline Health System, continued as a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Future of Nursing Scholar at M. Louise Fitzpatrick College of Nursing, Villanova University, Villanova, Pennsylvania, and received a Stratton Scholar’s Grant from Jefferson College of Nursing, Jefferson University. She studied the relationship between the patient’s smoking status and postoperative surgical outcomes during her doctoral program. Her emerging research platform focuses on generating evidence to influence policies that promote the optimization of surgical patients' health and outcomes. Dr. Devlin is skilled in literature searches, reviews, and integration as well as the use of electronic reference management. She is PhD prepared Quantitative and Qualitative Researcher with a focus on patient-centered outcomes (using large data sets [NSQIP] and SPSS software) research resulting in seven manuscripts and 11 presentations geared toward scientific and clinical communities.
