Molly Kucera, MBAHC, RN, BSN, CNOR, CNAMB has been an OR nurse since 2001, working as a staff nurse, in education, and charge nurse, nurse manager, and associate director. She received her MBAHC in March 2019 and has served on the education committees of her local AORN chapter for the last five years. Molly has always provided education in various ways. As a student in college, she was a CPR instructor and later became an ACLS instructor; as staff nurse in the CVOR, she was responsible for team education, including creating and presenting a variety of topics and providing preceptorship to new nurses; while at the Iowa City ASC, Molly assisted with education and emergency drill preparedness. She became the department manager and educated team members to new service lines that began under her leadership, including GI, Retina, and Uni-knee programs. She currently serves as the Associate director for the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics for the Ambulatory Surgery Center and the chair for the ASC subspeciality committee for AORN.
