Dr Michael Sinnott (MBBS, FACEM, FRACP) is an Associate Professor at the University of Queensland and the Queensland University of Technology. As a senior clinician for over 35 years, he has experience working in hospitals and providing education to healthcare workers.
Michael has a strong background in research, contributing to over 40 publications and 30 speaking engagements globally, including presenting at the AORN Global Surgical Conference (USA), ORNAC virtual conference (Canada), 10th Anniversary Occupational Health Symposium (Hong Kong), and III Congreso Internacional XIX Congreso Nacional Enfermeria Quirúrgica (Mexico). He was a driving force in designing the Queensland Emergency Medicine Research Foundation and is a regular contributor to the Nursing CPD Institute.
Michael’s pioneering research into the link between staff and patient safety led him to be involved in the development of safety guidelines and regulations in the USA, and safety standards and guidelines in Australia.
